The Norwegian-American Defense Conference 2018

The 6th Annual Norwegian-American Defense Conference focused on 'NATO and the Northern Flank - Securing the Maritime Profile of the Alliance'. Taking place at the National Press Club, the conference attracted over 220 participants from Norwegian and US industry, government, and military representatives. The full-day conference included a significant line-up of speakers, including ambassador of Norway to the United States H.E. Kåre R. Aas, State Secretary of The Norwegian Ministry of Defence Ms. Tone Skogen, Congressman Rick Larsen and Secretary of the Navy Hon. Richard V. Spencer. NADIC would like to thank our speakers and panelist for sharing their expertise and insight in this year's conference topic.

In addition to all the excellent speakers,  the conference included the signing of the Security of Supply Arrangement by Mr. Morten Tiller, The Norwegian Ministry of Defence's National Armaments Director and Mr. Eric Chewning, the DoD's deputy assistant secretary for manufacturing and industrial base policy. The signing of the SOSA is a representation of the continuously growing partnership between Norway and the United States. As Mr. Eric Chewning pointed out in his speech “The United States and Norway enjoy a long tradition of friendly relations of working closely together on a wide range of issues that are important to both our nations as well as the rest of the world. This SOSA is another link in that strong chain that already binds us”

We would also like to thank our generous sponsors for making this event possible
