2020 Henry Bacon Seminar
Bridging the Atlantic - Security in the High North
Friday April 3
The Henry Bacon Seminar is a long-standing bilateral tradition held in honor of the crew onboard the U.S. liberty ship SS Henry Bacon, many of whom lost their lives in a rescue operation in the Norwegian part of the Arctic in February 1945. Understanding the geopolitics of the Arctic is key to maintaining stability in a region of opportunities. The seminar aims at exploring how to approach the future of the High North in times of increased international attention.
Key Note Speakers:
Lieutenant General Brian D. Beaudreault, Commanding General, II Marine Expeditionary Force
Ms. Tone Skogen, State Secretary, Ministry of Defence
Panel moderated by Mr. Christopher Skaluba and Ms. Lauren Speranza, Atlantic Council
Major General Tonje Skinnarland, Chief of the Royal Norwegian Air Force
