From October 5-15, the Draken Harald Hårfagre Viking ship was docked at The Wharf in DC. Nearly 22 000 visitors experienced daily exhibits, deck tours and screenings of the Draken documentary. Visitors and guests also had the opportunity to marvel at the stories from crew members who participated in the ship's long journey across the Atlantic Ocean.

The week was also filled with events and seminars organized by the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce Mid-Atlantic, the Norwegian-American Defense Industry Council, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. Read about the events of the week, and see more pictures below

Norway for Oceans

The Royal Norwegian Embassy hosted a series of blue economy seminars, following the launch of the Norwegian Government's comprehensive ocean strategy earlier this year. In 2019, Norway will host the sixth Our Ocean Conference, gathering world leaders, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and academia to make actionable and tangible commitments to protect and conserve the ocean. The ocean seminars hosted by the Embassy underlined the themes of the upcoming conference, with focal points being sustainable ocean opportunities, marine plastic pollution, and maritime transportation. The Future of Maritime Transportation seminar was made possible by NADIC member KONGSBERG and was followed by an evening reception and a KONGSBERG Showcase of Technologies.
